20 – The Cousin with the Water Jet

The dragon who was bigger than Feilong, but not as big as the other dragons, came towards him.
«Greetings, Long Fei. I’m your cousin, Eldest Child of Long Shui. I didn’t mean for anything to happen to you. Please forgive me. There was something unusual in the clouds. I didn’t realise it was you. I just fired a jet of water at it on reflex.»
Something about the situation felt strangely familiar to Feilong. He remembered his encounter with the sheep, and couldn’t help but grin.
«Greetings, Cousin. Luckily, your father managed to catch me. So nothing happened, except that my scales are terribly wet, which makes me rather uncomfortable.»
«Oh, we can do something about that. Please, follow me.»
Feilong followed his cousin and entered a cave.
«This is our cave. It has several entrances,» his cousin explained.
They walked through the cave until they reached a large chamber with wide openings along the sides. In the centre stood a big object that seemed to give off warmth. The room was very warm indeed.
«Feilong! Come, stand with me!» he heard his father’s voice call.
Feilong looked around and saw his father standing behind the object, his wings spread wide.
